Guillaume Marmin is a French visual artist educated at the University of Lyon II and ARFIS. His work Oh Lord is a renaissance of visual creation, taking us far away from today’s conventional demands for clear rationality – as well as taking us closer to the mystical.

Oh Lord is the result of a collaboration with the Observatoire de Paris Meudon and the Institut de Planétologie et d’Astrophysique de Grenoble. Marmin compiled the 15,000 images for Oh Lord from several sources including NASA’s satellite Solar Dynamics Observatory which scans the solar disk and transmits images of its surface in real time.

Marmin compiled the 15,000 images for Oh Lord from several sources including NASA’s satellite Solar Dynamics Observatory which scans the solar disk and transmits images of its surface in real time. Together, the material creates a visually and sonically inspiring, as well as innovative, installation where light rays are both animated and materialized. Whether Marmin investigates scientific questions or uses mystical symbolism, his installations direct the spotlight precisely on our relationship with light.
